2017 France 89 mins Dir: Agnes Varda & JR
An 88 year old woman and a 33 year old man take a road trip through some stunning countryside in Northern France. At every stop they take photos of willing locals, then turn those photos into startlingly large printed installations, plastered onto the side of buildings, houses, railway stations, and even shipping containers.
In collaboration, the pair are a dream. Clearly besotted with each other’s energy, process and humour, they travel together like a grandmother and her favourite grandchild – laughing, talking, and seeing possibilities for new work in every place they visit.
A totally charming film!
Oscar nominated 2018, Best Documentary Independent Spirit and winner of 33 other awards!
