Terms of Service
These terms cover how you use this website, buy tickets, submit films and take part in what we run.
Who we are
This website is run by C-Doc Ltd (ABN 94 630 449 982), a registered charity trading as Castlemaine Documentary Festival. These terms cover the website, our screenings and events, film submissions, workshops and the volunteer programme.
If you use the site, you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.
Who can take part
Anyone can browse this site and come to a screening. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian to agree on your behalf before you submit a film, sign up to volunteer or book a workshop. Some films carry an age restriction and we say so on the listing.
Submissions, volunteering and workshops
Giving us your details
When you submit a film, sign up to volunteer or book a workshop, give us accurate details so we can reach you.
Tell us if your contact details change while an application is open.
How we choose
LOCALS submissions go to an independent jury. Workshop and volunteer places are limited.
We decide which films screen and which applications we accept, and we cannot always explain every decision.
Using this site
Fair use
Use the site lawfully.
Do not attack, overload or interfere with the site.
Please do not
You agree not to:
Use the site for anything unlawful.
Pretend to be someone else, or to speak for the Festival.
Upload viruses or anything else harmful.
Harass or abuse anyone, online or at our events.
At our events
Our screenings, workshops and Club CDoc nights are open to everyone. We ask that you:
Treat other people, our volunteers and our guests with respect.
Help us keep the room safe and welcoming.
Follow what our staff and volunteers ask of you on the night.
If you do not, we may ask you to leave, and we may decline to sell you tickets in future.
Who owns what
Our material
The Festival name, logo, programme copy and the photographs on this site belong to C-Doc Ltd, or to the people who licensed them to us. Using the site does not give you rights to any of it.
Your film
Your film stays yours. When you submit it, you give us permission to screen it at the Festival, and to use a still and a short extract to promote that screening.
You confirm you hold the rights to the film you submit, including its music.
What we can promise
The website
We keep this site accurate and running, but we cannot promise it will never be wrong or offline. Programme details can change.
Our responsibility
Nothing here limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Beyond those rights, we are not responsible for indirect losses, and our responsibility is limited to what you paid us.
